BLACKSTREET: THE KINGS OF NEW JACK SWING
November 17th, 2009
HOOPDREAMZ is proud to announce that Teddy Riley the King of New Jack Swing and his R&B group, BLACKSTREET will perform their first ever headline shows in Australia this December.

Performing in Sydney and Melbourne, there will be strictly one show only in each city, ensuring that these are the hottest tickets in town. Support at each concert will be New Zealand’s rising star Vince Harder, whose hit, Everything, stayed at No.1 on the New Zealand charts for three weeks.
Teddy Riley and BLACKSTREET will present their unique show, THE KINGS of NEW JACK SWING Tour as well as perform a Michael Jackson tribute, dedicated to the King of Pop.
Teddy Riley is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, musician and Grammy Award winning producer. He is the founder of the New Jack Swing style of music, which incorporated the fusion of Hip- Hop and R&B in the late 80s. His musical career began with R&B trio, Guy in the 80s and then onto BLACKSTREET in the 90s.
This is an all ages event. Doors open at 7.00pm. For all enquiries please call 1300 737 363. IMPORTANT NOTE: There are NO door sales on the night of the event in Melbourne. PRE-PURCHASE only.

Who will be supporting acts for the sydney show??
Hi Hoop Dreams, I am just wondering why the new zealand show has been cancelled and why there is no link anymore in the ticktek site?
How do i purchase tickets for the new zealand show? i follow instructions on your website but it only has the sydney & melbourne shows.
dam 18 of us bought the gold seats for $69 + $3 admin fee for each ticket, NO ONE’S CONFIRMING if the concert is cancelled in Auckland, but yet Tala your right, theyve taken off Ticket and they told me theyre not selling them. Confused big time>
If it is confirmed that Blackstreet are NOT going to perform in NZ will we be able to obtain a full refund of our tickets?
hehe found a youtube with mark innit!

i guess he is coming… but thanks for answering…not
Hi like Tala I cannot find the link and also hearing the concert has been cancelled is confusing, it has been advertised on the radio, so what is happening can someone please inform us loyal fans who just want to see them.
yeah for all the ones going to the NZ gig this is all I could find http://www.flava.co.nz/WhatsOn/Detail.aspx?ID=5469&Cat=Latest+Concerts, it says the concerts been postponed til next year. bullsh!t!!! I wonder if you cans still get a refund if you purchased them online though?
I hate it when concerts are cancelled and promoters dont notify you about it and it’s not till you find out from other people you know it has..damn’ Look what happened when timberland was cancelled and showtime youring still promoted it but gave a full refund back to customers.
I was soooo looking forward to seeing my idol teddy riley. If it’s posponed till next year i hope they bring them to wellington too. It will most definitely be a big seller…
The grape vine says that there are far better shows to watch. those expecting the good ol days of hip hop will be bitterly disappointed.
That was the time but this aint the place.
Hope that the NZ concert will be better than Sydney’s.
Plenty of people are glad that Blackstreet and Teddy came all they way to Sydney, but I would gladly wait another decade for a real show to be put on. Five full songs aint enough. Put together a set list, there are so many great Blackstreet tracks, and Teddy has supported so many of the worlds greatest.
maybe next time we will get the show that Blackstreet fans deserve. last point… don’t eat on stage! its unprofessional.
Good luck with the rest of the tour.
What a waste of time, money and hours of my life!!!!
As far as whoever “organised” this concert, get another job and one that ur half decent at. Doors didn’t open at 7pm. Took over 2 hours to get inside the venue because the soundcheck etc had not been done. Blackstreet didn’t come on stage til 11.30PM. And tickets were being sold at the door for $20 less than what was being advertised on the net. Then, they only played 5 songs and not even the good ones. So, once again, thanks for nothing!!
teddy riley and blackstreet put on an awesome show at the sydney concert and stayed on stage for ages better than what you get at some of the hip hop concerts when they hit the stage for 1hr if that with a DJ then piss off and not even talk to fans.. huh ole skool RnB know how to deliver a good show… compared to concerts today i got my monies worth at blackstreet and the wait was worth it…teddy is the man…
kiwi’s wake up – the world knows how famous you guys are for being last minute buyers, you think concerts wait for you to purchase on the last week or even the day of…NO, so its your market there thats half the problem, dont buy tix the artists can’t come… get a c/card as the world has evolved and this is how things are done these days gone are the days of buying disco tickets from the corner shop, you want more concerts then support by buying tickets… good on the ones that did sorry you guys wont get to see them this time around…they were mean at sydney
